Frozen Jello Grapes – Frozen grapes covered in jello mix that make for a quick, candy-like summer snack!
So one day, I’m going to get around to making actual candied fruit. Like the candy grapes, candy strawberries, so on.
As for right now, I’m afraid of making candy. It’s very technical and precise.
So I’m starting slow with the Frozen Jello Grapes.
It’s not exactly the same thing as actual candy grapes but it’s a step in the right direction.
And it’s a good-tasting step in that direction LOL!
The fact that these are frozen makes them perfect for summer.
Kal (my love) came inside after mowing the lawn and asked if they were ready. He saw me making them that morning and was sad I wouldn’t let him try one until they were frozen because you have to the full effect. I said yes and he RAN to the deep freezer and immediately started snacking.
Frozen Jello Grapes
- about a pound of grapes, washed and dried
- 2 tbsps of lemon juice
- about half a pack of jello ( I used strawberry and Blue raspberry)
Wash and dry your grapes. They can be either red or green grapes or both. I prefer green grapes, although Sams club does have a really good special red grape that would be perfect for this. I think its Raspberry grapes.
Place the grapes in a bowl big enough for the grapes to be tossed in. Toss the grapes in the lemon juice, making sure that each grape is coated.
Pour about half the jello packet onto the grapes and toss them around until each grape is covered thoroughly. If using 2 or more different jellos, use separate bowls to divide the grapes.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Pour the grapes onto the cookie sheet and place in the freezer for about 2 hours or more, until frozen.
