Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits–These will absolutely blow your mind with how good they taste!
This is a remake of my mom’s recipe Copy Cat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, (with some different techniques) and they are both amazing!
I know how we all looove the signature bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. at the chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Texas Roadhouse, but then you end up spending money because they won’t just give the free bread away without you ordering some food.
So, I found a solution. Make it at home, for at least half the price, because all the ingredients called for in this recipe are things most people already have (the only thing I didn’t already have in my kitchen was parsley, which was only 99 cents at Kroger).
Now, instead of spending $20+ at Red Lobster, you make these in your kitchen for less than $5! And since this recipe is super easy, I think that is a really good deal!
The first thing you’re going to do is preheat the oven to 400 degrees. And before you ask “Grace, why do you always put this at the beginning of the recipe?”, I do this because I always forget to preheat my oven and I end up waiting like 20 extra minutes.
Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits Remake
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp slap ya mama (optional)
- 1 stick cold butter
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- about 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cup buttermilk/regular milk
- 4 tbsp butter melted
- handful chopped parsley
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Now go ahead and mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda into a mixing bowl. I added some Slap Ya Mama for a little bit of spice, as well.
Next, you’ll wanna grab a cold stick of unsalted butter and slice it into thick pieces (which will make it easier when combining it with the dry ingredients).
When combining the dry ingredients with the butter, you don’t want there to be any large lumps (really you don’t want there to be any lumps, but if you have some small ones that’s okay). Once completely combined, it’ll have sort of a sand-like texture.
Now it’s time to add the remaining ingredients, the cheese, parsley, and the buttermilk/milk. Give that a good mix until well combined.
Take out a baking sheet and spray it with cooking oil, then plop down 8 big spoonfuls of the dough we just made. Place the pan in the oven for 15-18 minutes.
When they come out of the oven, glaze them with the garlic butter mixture and
Bing Bang Boom you now have Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits!

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp slap ya mama (optional)
- 1 stick cold butter
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- about 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cup buttermilk/regular milk
- 4 tbsp butter melted
- handful chopped parsley
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 and spray a baking sheet with cooking oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and powder, onion powder, and garlic powder. Slice your butter into about 10 thick slices and press them into the flour mixture until well combined. There should be little to no clumps and definitely no large clumps and it should feel a little bit like sand.
- Add in the cheese, parsley, and buttermilk/milk and combine. Take 8 large spoonfuls and place them onto the baking sheet, and they don't have to be perfect balls (I didn't worry at all about the shape and they all came out looking great).
- Place into the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes. While they're cooking, melt 4 tbsp of butter, and stir in the handful of chopped parsley and garlic powder.
- Cool for about 5 minutes, glaze them with the butter mixture and serve warm or store them in the fridge.
