Caramel Fruit Dip

Caramel Fruit Dip-just 2 ingredients, perfect to enjoy as an afternoon snack or for a party!

Caramel Fruit Dip-just 2 ingredients, perfect to enjoy as an afternoon snack or for a party!

This fruit dip was made from love. Love of caramel sauce. You know, the kind you put on ice cream.

Towards the end of summer, our local grocery store was having a really good sale on the sundae syrups-Hot fudge, butterscotch and caramel. I might have gone a little crazy and stocked up.

It started out innocently enough, we were just using it for our ice cream. Then I started adding it to my late morning coffee, as a treat. Let me tell you, I big squirt of the Hot Fudge in your coffee-instant Mocha Coffee.

Next it was the caramel sauce. And then I was doing it every morning. I figured since I was switching out my usual sugar for the caramel, it was a fair exchange.  And a darn good way to start off my day!

And then I realized the kids weren’t getting any of this sauce. Ice cream season is pretty much over for the winter (yeah, I’ll still keep some on hand for emergencies.) I needed to let the kids enjoy a little too. But my kids don’t need coffee. Um, no way, not happening. The coffee is mine AND lets face it, kids don’t need any more caffeine then they already get.

So it had to be a snack. This was just a no brainer. We’ve always got apples in the house…Dip it is!

My son couldn’t get enough of this stuff. Two apples later and he was wanting me to cut up more. (We won’t talk about the fact that he’s 16 and can cut up his own apple.)

Joan, you are onto something putting sauce in your coffee! I’m trying that (right after I use the sauce for this dip!)

LOVE anything caramel. And if that sauce taste just half as good as it looks…it’s a winner!

    DELISH!

And yes…definitely in coffee. Yes, yes, yes.

I just picked up a container of Marzetti’s caramel dip and now I am thinking I need to whip it with some cream cheese! Great pairing, Joan.
