Spicy Potato Wedges are an easy side dish for burgers.

This is a simple, easy recipe. Found it a few months back at One Perfect Bite.  The first time we made them, I used Idaho potatoes. They were wonderful. Since then, I’ve used red potatoes, yellow potatoes. I think any potato would work well with this recipe.

These are a nice change from french fries and go perfect with a burger.

Spicy Potato Wedges
adapted from One Perfect Bite

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons onion salt
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
cayenne pepper ( anywhere from a dash to 1/2 teaspoon, according to your tastes)
8-10 large red potatoes (use more or less to meet your dinner needs)

Cut potatoes into wedges.
Combine all spices together

then add to oil in a large bowl.

Add potatoes and coat well.

Spread potatoes out on to a baking sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

Spicy Potato Wedges are an easy side dish for burgers.

Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.

Post script: Joan passed away in her sleep on October 22, 2015. She went to bed feeling nauseous (which is one of the signs of heart attacks in women) and never woke up. Please learn the signs of heart attack in women (they are different than for men) and if you have high blood pressure or family history of heart disease, don’t brush off nausea as just the flu. Joan made it very clear that she wanted her work to continue in the event of her death so her family is working to keep Joan’s dream alive. In the days following her death, Joan’s fellow bloggers started a twitter campaign #ChocolateForJoan and #chocolateeverydamnday. We hope you’ll join us in honoring Joan’s memory by having chocolate every day.

About Grace

When I was younger, I was constantly in the kitchen helping my mom bake. It was fun getting to play with the flour and always getting to lick the spoon. I’ve always expressed an interest in baking and now I feel that it’s the right time for me to take over. I am a college student working towards a nursing degree as well as a full-time aunt to the sweetest little kids (they might pop up in some of the posts). I’ve learned most of what I know about baking and cooking from my mom, and I am continuing to self-teach through trial and error, which means plenty of sweets to be eaten. Read more...
