Christmas parties are every day right now and I’m always looking for new ideas of what to take to the party. I decided why not make Christmas Ornament Cupcakes. They are adorable and very easy.
You can use any cake that you like. I used yellow cake because the friend whose party we were going to is allergic to chocolate. I can’t imagine how hard that would be for me to avoid chocolate.
I think red velvet cake would be good for these also. You could even use food coloring to make your own creation.
All that you need to do is bake them in a round mold or if you don’t have one you could make cake pops. That just requires that you bake a cake and then when it is cooled you mash it up with 1/2 cup of frosting and shape it into a ball.
For the frosting on these I used a can of pre-made frosting and heated it in the microwave for about 30 seconds until it was pourable.
Add sprinkles and a gold wrapped candy and viola Christmas Ornament Cupcakes.
It took no time at all and was a huge hit with the kids at the party.
I hope you all have a Happy Holidays!
