Chocolate Banana Smoothie, with sprinkles because Sprinkles make everything more fun!
OK, this post really isn’t about how to make a smoothie. You all know how to do that. Throw a bunch of yummy stuff in a blender and turn it on till it’s all blended together.
But do you see the rim of that glass?
This is how to make a smoothie or any other drink, fun!
I saw this post back last fall, from Cravings of a Lunatic.
The post was about making your own colored sugar. Pretty cool post.
But then Kim took that sugar and put it on the rim of a glass.
So pretty, so fun, I have to do this!
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
makes 1 glass
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 banana
- 4-6 chocolate ice cubes (you can substitute with some chocolate syrup and ice cubes)
- 1 cup milk
for the rim
- corn syrup
- sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare your glass. Using a small brush or your finger, rub the top edge of your glass with corn syrup, then dip into sprinkles. Repeat with however many glasses you are doing. Set aside.
- Place banana, ice cubes and milk in blender. Turn on and blend till smooth and frothy.
- Pour into prepared glasses.
Sprinkles make everything more fun!
I’ve linked up at some of these great parties.
Post script: Joan passed away in her sleep on October 22, 2015. She went to bed feeling nauseous (which is one of the signs of heart attacks in women) and never woke up. Please learn the signs of heart attack in women (they are different than for men) and if you have high blood pressure or family history of heart disease, don’t brush off nausea as just the flu. Joan made it very clear that she wanted her work to continue in the event of her death so her family is working to keep Joan’s dream alive. In the days following her death, Joan’s fellow bloggers started a twitter campaign #ChocolateForJoan and #chocolateeverydamnday. We hope you’ll join us in honoring Joan’s memory by having chocolate every day.

WOW..who wouldn’t love that smoothie? I definitely have to make this..although I was thinking of adding some peanut butter to it ;D You definitely have to try the popovers, they’re so simple, but so amazing aesthetically and taste/texture wise, especially with whatever you add to them or spread on them.

Linda, here’s the recipe I used for the ice cubes, really easy, and they also make a great Fudgesicle!
