Hershey’s Candy Bar Hot Chocolate and People Magazine-The perfect pair for a little Me Time
I’m a go, go, go type person. Especially my mind. There are always a thousand things running through my mind at any time.
When I’m at home, there’s always something to be done, working on the blog, getting posts written, editing photos, behind the scenes maintenance type stuff. Then there’s the baking and tasting and rebaking and photographing side of the blog work.
Then there’s the real life stuff that needs to get done. Laundry, the bathrooms (can I tell you how much I truly hate cleaning bathrooms, arg!) vacuuming, dusting, you all have homes, you know the routine. Oh and yard work. You know the best part about winter in Georgia? No Yard work for at least 4 months!
My mind doesn’t stop when I leave home. Driving is when I seem to get some of my best inspiration. Always carry paper and pen!
Even if I’m just sitting, waiting to pick up the kids after school, I’m scrolling my phone, checking Facebook or e-mail. When the kids are with me, they get my attention. I focus on what’s happening in their lives.
Just sitting back and relaxing is hard for me. Always has been. I was the kid that could never sit still in school.
As an adult, I’ve found I need to force myself to take time just for me. Unplug from all the electronics. Just pick up a magazine like People Magazine and enjoy the quick stories, catch up on my favorite celebrities. Nothing about food, nothing about my family, just some good easy reading.
The ultimate relaxation is my People Magazine, My candy dish filled with Hershey’s Miniatures and a cup of Candy Bar Hot Chocolate close at hand. All while sitting on my back deck with my feet propped up in the opposite chair. Perfect with this cooler fall weather.
Candy Bar Hot Chocolate

Instructions
- Place chocolate bars in the bottom of your mug.
- Heat milk in microwave for 60-90 seconds being careful not to scorch milk but making sure milk is hot.

Notes
you can substitute 1'2 of a full size chocolate bar if you don't have the minis.

I am not good at taking time for myself (unless you count my daily shower!). Clearly I need to stock up on chocolate and magazines, then go hide in the closet and pretend I don’t hear my kids! That would perfect! I love your mug Joan!

What a great idea for hot chocolate! And I’m so the same – I can never turn my mind off! Always going and have something that needs to be done! But I do love my People magazine! 🙂

Yes, please! I’d love a cup of hot chocolate to accompany me while thumbing through People! It sounds so…decadent. And, I’ll take one of those s’mores cookies to go!

Oh I did something similar with Hershey’s Kisses last year and melted them into hot chocolate. I love the assorted mini bars, so I may just put all of the varieties into one cup! Love the mug 😉
