About Grace

When I was younger, I was constantly in the kitchen helping my mom bake. It was fun getting to play with the flour and always getting to lick the spoon. I’ve always expressed an interest in baking and now I feel that it’s the right time for me to take over. I am a college student working towards a nursing degree as well as a full-time aunt to the sweetest little kids (they might pop up in some of the posts). I’ve learned most of what I know about baking and cooking from my mom, and I am continuing to self-teach through trial and error, which means plenty of sweets to be eaten. Read more...

I would make muffins. I have been craving muffins in the morning and there are some recipes I would love to try. This mixer would be awesome for that. It would also make for a nice belated birthday present!

The first thing I would make would be some amazingly hearty bread. Being arthritic took away my ability to knead bread, so I miss really GOOD bread–bread with tons of stuff and grains and yumminess inside. Bread would be the very first thing I would make with my Empire Red Kitchenaid stand mixer–got any great recipes?

Hot Crossed buns! They are a favorite of mine during cooler weather, also a from scratch pumpkin pie and some gingerbread cookies would be super awesome.

I am taking Wilton Cake Decorating classes presently. So, I would make a “from scratch” carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and decorate it for my husband.

I don’t have a Kitchen-Aid and have always wanted one. I don’t mind what color it is, just having one would make my kitchen complete. I’d definitely be making more cookies to give away to my friends for the holidays and lots of cakes too! I’ve never made bread from scratch but that’s something I’d also do.
