Halloween Candy Mug Cakes – One-minute mug cake using some of that leftover Halloween candy that your kids will bring home!
Leftover Halloween candy is always a problem in my house. This year it will actually be from KJ trick-or-treating for the first time, but each year we end up having leftover candy from handing it out.
Well, instead of keeping that candy left to rot in the house somewhere, I like to find creative ways to bake it into something!
Last year I made a delicious Leftover Halloween Candy Cookie Cake that used up a ton of our leftover candy.
Well this year I wanted to make a mug cake, like I remember making with my mom.
So gather any kind or chocolate or peanut butter candy you have and make these mug cakes!
Halloween Candy Mug Cakes
- 1/2 cup chopped chocolate bars
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup of chocolate candy, roughly chopped
*This recipe is good for one mug cake.
In a microwave safe mug, melt the chopped chocolate bars with the milk for about 30 second in the microwave. Stir until combined and the chocolate is completely melted.
Add in oil, flour and baking powder. Add in the roughly chopped candy. Cook for 1 minute in the microwave.
Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before eating.
This is a fun and simple project you can do with your kids, relatively mess free and yummy!
I used large mugs for mine, however i’m confident that medium sized mugs would be okay due to the amount of room leftover in my large mugs.
I remeber my mom having a few weeks where she was just absolutely obsessed with making different flavors of mug cakes. And I remember having the honor of being the taste tester! Which was amazing getting to come home from school with a new mug cake to try!
