Boo Berries – a cute little Halloween snack you can make with your littles!
It’s October and officially the month of Halloween! This month, I want to come up with a bunch of recipes centered around Halloween style treats that can be made with your littles!
These Boo Berries are a good start, only requiring 3 ingredients : strawberries, white chocolate chips, and semi sweet chocolate chips. I made these with my nephew because this week his school is on Fall break since the Fair is in town.
The only rule while making these was let me get the good looking strawberries for photos, which was only a few of them, and then he can do the rest. He dipped all the strawberries and decorated some too!
This was such a fun thing to do with him and it really made him happy! It gave us something to do that wasn’t chores or sitting around the house staring at the walls.
The great thing about these is they don’t have to look perfect. Just add a face to make a ghost or make a bunch of lines to make a mummy and BAM! You’ve made Boo Berries!
Boo Berries
- Wash your strawberries and dry them off completely. Set aside.
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 10 second interval. mine took about 40 seconds. Stir until all the chips are melted and creamy.
- Dip each strawberry into the melted white chocolate. You can grab the strawberries by the stem or you can put the strawberries onto a popsicle stick. Once dipped, place the strawberry onto a plate then place the plate in the fridge to set.
- Melt the semi sweet chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 10 second intervals. Spoon the melted chocolate into the bottom corner of a zip lock baggie and cut a very small piece of the corner off. Use this to make the faces on the white chocolate covered strawberries. Place in the fridge to set for a minute or two then they’re ready to eat!
