Apple Biscuit Cobbler – this treat is perfect for a summer or fall day when you need something that dirties as little dishes as possible but fills everyones bellies up!
It’s officially the best time of the year! The ‘BER months!
In case you don’t understand, that refers to the months ending in ‘ber : SeptemBER, OctoBER, NovemBER, and DecemBER. Literally the best time of the year.
If you didn’t know, fallhalloweenthanksmas is my favorite. All the the best holidays and vibes all wrapped up into a few months at the end of the year. Summer is great and all, at least I loved it when I was a kid and had no school, but for me as an adult, fall and winter are the peak time of the year.
And so I thought I would bring in this beautiful and delicious time of the year with a yummy and simple treat that everyone will love.
Apple Biscuit Cobbler
- 2 cans of premade biscuits (I used store brand)
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
- 1 can of apple pie filling
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, mix combine the sugar and cinnamon. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl.
Dip each premade biscuit dough into the butter then place it in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Make sure to coat each side and the edges of the dough in the sugar mixture.
Arrange each biscuit in a pie plate in a spiral formation, and placing 2 of the doughs in the middle of the spiral.
Spoon the apple pie filling between each biscuit dough. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hr and 10 mins. Warning : mine overflowed as the dough began to rise, be sure to place a cookie sheet below the pie plate to ensure safe baking and less mess.
I’d say to let this cool before eating, but we did no such thing. The best thing I’ve come to realize since growing up baking is it is such a difference baking for your parents to becoming the parent and baking for the family you created.
I can’t tell you the feeling I got when my fiance and son came running to the kitchen to try this as soon as it came out of the oven.
