Little Debbie Swiss Roll Milkshake
I know, this is just another milkshake. Well, no it’s not. This is how you create world peace when you have 3 kids and only 2 packages of Little Debbie Swiss Rolls left. You can do the math, 2 does not divide well by three. And yes I could go out and buy more but school is almost over and these are a lunch treat for school.
They don’t get them everyday, heck, they don’t take their lunch but maybe once a week. My kids Like the school lunches. Barf. I’ve seen the lunches. My youngest likes me to come and have lunch with her every now and then. But you couldn’t pay me to eat the lunch at her school. It’s not horrible. At least not to the kids. Frozen cardboard pizza, Tacos with 1 teaspoon of meat (it’s probably a little more.) They do get fresh fruit which my daughter loves and sweet potato fries which all the kids hate and throw away.
So I try to bribe my kids to take their lunch with Little Debbie Snacks. It works. I’m not completely terrible. They’ll take an apple or grapes and they still get the milk at school.
Adding Little Debbie cakes to a milkshake really does kick it up a notch. The chocolaty outside, the cake in the middle and then the cream, yes the cream! I think the cream’s the secret ingredient here!

It’s hard to have appealing lunches for kids =P i love those snacks, and thanks for including my milkshake, Joan =)
Jen @ Jen's Favorite Cookies says
Brilliant idea! I have the same problem when there’s only 2 of something and I have 3 kids. I’ve been known to slice 2 apples and give them each 2/3 of the apple slices! ๐
Brianne @ Cupcakes & Kale Chips says
So Joan, which one of your kids had to wait for you to take pictures to get their milkshake, and then had to drink a half melty one? ๐
Joan Hayes says
Brianne, No one got a melty one, I made these before they got home and put them in the freezer for them as an after school treat, I will tell you the one in this photo wasn’t this full when the child got it wink, wink.
Kayle (The Cooking Actress) says

I used to think i was the biggest treat to get a Twinkie in my lunch : I’d rather have one of your milkshakes, what a fun idea!

Hopping over from the Project Inspired link party. My son LOVES these things and hates to share, so we will have to try this sometime ๐ Pinning!
Becca @ Crumbs and Chaos says
Oh my goodness, Joan! I love this idea – way to keep the peace ๐
Aaron says
I like the recipe and all, but I’m not seeing how the lonely 2 packages of Swiss Rolls (which is a total of 4 small treats if I’m correct) will have much of an impact over the 6 scoops of chocolate ice cream. I’ll just throw in more Swiss Rolls, or less ice cream, until it comes juuuuust right for me ๐
Joan Hayes says
Aaron, feel free to adjust proportions as needed to taste ๐ If I had more I’d probably add them in too, well maybe not, I’d probably just eat them straight up!

Phew! For the longest time I thought I was the only one who didn’t like sweet potato fries. Good to know I am not alone ๐ Love this idea! It makes me realize that I don’t drink nearly enough milkshakes.

I clicked onto Pinterest and this is the first pin I saw. I HAD to come over and check it out. YUM! And I so agree about the school lunches. I never ate them when I was a kid, they were barfy then and they’re barfy now. With all the fabulous food you make I would have been in lunch heaven if you were my mom.
