Quick Chocolate Buttercream Frosting-rich and creamy, perfect every time!
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me! That’s right, today’s my birthday. I’m turning 29 again. Really it’s 48 but it’s all just a number anyway. We’re as young (or old) as we feel. Most days I’m probably in my early 30’s. Every now and then I feel ancient, like when I’m trying to figure out my Iphone. Seriously, I’ve filled up my Cloud and I didn’t even know I had one!
As I plan my cake, I realized not everyone may know about the best chocolate buttercream recipe ever. I’m still working on the cake, I tried 2 recipes today but neither was worthy of this buttercream. I’m not even sure what flavor the cake will be. I just know this buttercream has to be on top. It’s smooth and creamy. Rich and chocolaty. If you plan on being generous with your decorating (or eating half a batch with a spoon) double the recipe.
I’ll figure out the cake later. In the meantime, I did make a double batch, so I can have a spoonful of frosting as a snack for now.

Every Charm she makes smells like the food it is. Key Lime Pie…smells like Key Lime Pie. A Peanut Butter Blossom Cookie…yup, peanut butter! And she makes all sorts of jewelry. Necklaces, Bracelets, Rings, I’m in love with her bookmarks, how cute would those be as Christmas Presents?

Happy Birthday! Can’t wait to try the buttercream frosting. I just know it will be a keeper. Have you ever tried it with the special dark cocoa? Thinking that might be really special!
Joan Hayes says
It’s amazing with the special dark but it gets a grayish tone and doesn’t look very pretty, you have to add brown food coloring to make it look right.
